Cancer Center Patients Give Back To Cancer Patients
During this season of giving, patients undergoing treatment at the Forrest General Cancer Center are on the receiving end of goody bags. They aren’t from a group or organization but from fellow survivors and fighters who have been in these patients’ shoes or still are.
Hattiesburg Cycle Donates $10,350 to Forrest General Cancer Center
During the month of October, Hattiesburg Cycles observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month, using a pink ribbon to highlight its Facebook page. For every unit sold, the Hattiesburg business donated $50 to the Forrest General Healthcare Foundation. In all, they sold 207 units during the month which added up to the $10,350 donation. The donation will be used at the Forrest General Cancer Center.
Forrest General Cancer Center Adds Third Linear Accelerator
Forrest General Cancer Center announces the addition of a Varian Edge Linear Accelerator® in its battle to fight cancer. The new piece of equipment has the capability to treat all types of cancers with conventional radiation and using high dose pinpoint radiation, otherwise known as stereotactic radiation.

Pine Belt residents have an opportunity to attend a lecture about head, neck, and oral health Thursday, September 12, from noon-1 p.m., and participants who qualify will receive a free screening immediately following the presentation at Forrest General Hospital.
