Outpatient Rehabilitation

We Take Your Care Personally
Forrest Health's Outpatient Rehabilitation services offer a comprehensive team approach with physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. Our goals are to treat, heal and prevent injuries and disabilities while rebuilding confidence and restoring function.
Outpatient rehabilitation is available through all of the Forrest Health hospitals. At Forrest General the facility is located on the campus of the Family YMCA in Hattiesburg. We have the facilities and resources to provide a wide range of therapy services for each patient's individual recovery process.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy focuses on mobility, musculoskeletal impairments and balance skills. With physical therapy, patients can improve their safety and foster their independence. A combination of exercises, procedures, computerized equipment and educational tools are used, all depending on the patients condition. Our physical therapists work with patients to regain the skills needed to independently climb stairs, walk, perform job skills and manage pain.
Available at Forrest General, Highland, Jefferson Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Walthall
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on restoring a patient's ability to perform the "occupation" of living. Daily living skills such as getting dressed, work or leisure skills and home management skills are practiced or relearned through occupational therapy. Occupational therapists can assist with anything that occupies our time and includes skills for living.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is prescribed to assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, voice, swallowing fluency and other communication related disorders.

Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation
Balance and vestibular rehabilitation promotes stability and increases the patient's mobility to minimize fall risks. Treatment includes evaluation, gait and balance retraining, computerized balance testing and therapeutic exercises.

Pediatric Rehabilitation
Pediatric rehabilitation works with children with special needs for growth and development or injury recovery. We use a team approach to help children with mobility, improving speech, swallowing/feeding, functional play and normal movement for daily skills.
