Cardiac Catheterization Lab
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory— or Cath Lab—is where diagnostic testing and interventional heart procedures are performed.
The Cath lab uses catheters and tubing to diagnose and treat heart disease, and is also where patients come for treatment of various heart conditions, including heart attacks.
Treatments and Procedures
After the diagnosis of a heart condition or disorder, your cardiologist may recommend interventional procedures as your course of treatment. These may include:
- Balloon valvuloplasty
- Blood clot removal
- Cardiac catheterization
- Coronary thrombectomy
- Pacemaker and defibrillator implantation
- Micra™ Transcatheter Pacing System (TPS)
