Jefferson Davis Community Hospital is a 25-bed facility offering care for a variety of medical conditions, including monitored telemetry services. The hospital provides nursing care for patients ages 16 and older and accommodates outpatient treatments such as IV antibiotics, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and the administration of other medications—ensuring accessible, quality care for the community.

Emergency Services

Our Emergency Department is classified as a Level IV Emergency Department and Trauma Center. The ER offers emergency health services 24 hours a day to patients of all ages. The department is responsible for the immediate treatment of any medical or surgical emergency, for initiating life-saving measures, including chronic medical problems, minor injuries, and illnesses. The ER includes is staffed 24 hours a day by qualified physicians and nursing staff. Emergency and trauma cases that need a higher level of care are transferred to Forrest General Hospital. Patients are transferred by ambulance or air ambulance, depending on the condition.

Extended Care Facility (Nursing Home)

A five star rated 55-bed extended care facility located on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community Hospital. The facility is dual certified for Medicare and Medicaid, as well as private pay.

Imaging and Radiology

Provides inpatient and outpatient x-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, PACS system, Echos and MRI. Call 601-792-1219 for more information on how to schedule a procedure.

Infusion Services

Infusion therapy is prescribed by a physician when oral medication is ineffective or inappropriate for a particular illness or patient. We provide outpatient infusion services to treat conditions including, but not limited to, dehydration, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, anemia, and osteoporosis. Our services include the infusion of intravenous antibiotics, iron replacement therapy, hydration therapy, and blood transfusions. Injections such as vaccines and other injectable medications are also provided.

Laboratory

Clinical laboratory offers a wide range of test and services to meet the needs of the community.

Rehabilitation

Provides inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. An innovative treatment for chronic pain, called dry needling, is also available. Call 601-792-1242 for more information.

Rural Health Clinic

Services provided include medical emergency procedures as a first response to common life-threatening injuries and acute illness, along with routine health care maintenance, minor surgical procedures, administrative health care examinations, diagnostic and therapeutic services and supplies and other services provided consisting of primary medical care.

Swing Bed Program

The Jefferson Davis Community Hospital Swing Bed Program provides care to those individuals who need extended care beyond their acute care stay for physical therapy, nursing, and other skilled care. For more information about our Swing Bed Program, call 601-792-1142.
