A group of 43 young women from across the state who are competing in the 2019 Mississippi Miss Hospitality pageant took time out of their busy pageant week to visit Forrest General.
Lorie Mills, RHIT, CCS, director of Coding and CDI at Forrest General Hospital, co-authored an educational article for coders and other health information professionals titled AMI Documentation: Red Flags for CDI and Coding, which was published by American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) website HIM Body of Knowledge.
Forrest General’s Home Care and Hospice received the Strategic Healthcare Programs’ (SHP) Best Hospice Caregiver Satisfaction Award.
Forrest General’s Spirit of Women and the University of Southern Mississippi will host their annual “Football 201: Taking it on the Road” event. Kick the season off right at the eleventh annual “Football 201” on Wednesday, July 24 at 6 p.m.
Forrest General Hospital has received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Plus Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.
The Forrest General Rehabilitation Center (FGRC) hosted an open house of its newly renovated area of the hospital. FGRC is a highly-specialized acute rehabilitation center that functions as a stand-alone rehabilitation facility with all of the added benefits of being inside the hospital.
Thad Waites, MD, MACC, cardiologist at Hattiesburg Clinic and medical staff at Forrest General, has held many positions throughout his career including chair of the American College of Cardiology’s Board of Governors and a member of the ACC’s Board of Trustees.
Forrest General Hospital will host Project SEARCH, which is one-year high school transition program for young adults with developmental disabilities
According to a 2016 report by the Mississippi State Department of Health, there were an estimated 308,295 adults in Mississippi with diabetes. That year, 1,083 people died from diabetes or complications of the disease.
