Spirit of Women presents virtual event, Home for the Holidays

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (November 13, 2020) ‘Tis the season to get creative! Forrest General’s Spirit of Women wants to help you prepare for the upcoming holidays as it partners with Hattiesburg floral and design expert Brandon Chase Welborn for a virtual “Home for the Holidays” extravaganza. Welborn, who brings his special holiday decorating touches to the hospital each year, will host the three-part series which will provide easy, do-it-yourself decorating tips.

“We are excited to be working with Chase for this fun, but informative, holiday event,” said Millie Swan, Forrest Health vice president. “2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, and we know that looking forward to the holidays gives everyone a chance to reflect on blessings, look to the new year, and share some laughter. We hope this series will allow a fun, stress-free escape, but also inspire you while learning a lot of exciting decorating tips. Our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health are all important for overall wellness.”

Welborn will take guests on a magical tour of his Hub City home, which is decked out in his unique, but traditional, holiday style. He will be joined by special guests, Anne-Love Helveston of All the Love and Honey, as well as Kate McElroy of Walnut Square Gifts and Stationery, who provide entertaining and gift-wrapping ideas.

“Oh, how I wish we could all get together for our annual Christmas event,” said Kathy Walker, Spirit of Women coordinator. “But since we can’t, we have the next best thing – our virtual event with Chase. I hope you will join us for the many fantastic tips you can use this holiday season.”

The holiday series can be viewed on both the Forrest General Spirit of Women Facebook page and www.forresthealth.org/homefortheholidays. The schedule below provides a quick look at the segment feature as well as when it will be posted.

    • Week of November 16 – “Holiday Decorating” with Brandon Chase Welborn.
    • Week of December 4 – “Wrap it Up” with Brandon Chase Welborn and special guest, Kate McElroy, with Walnut Square Gifts and Stationery.
    • Week of December 11 – “Holiday Entertaining” with Brandon Chase Welborn and special guest, Anne-Love Helveston, of All the Love and Honey.

“I’m excited to be partnering with Forrest General’s Spirit of Women for this festive virtual holiday series,” said Welborn. “We’ll be discussing tablescapes, adding fresh greenery to your artificial garlands, wreaths and centerpieces, gift wrapping, tips for tying everything up with ribbon, wrapping up your front door and much more. We want to help you make your holidays full of cheer without going to a lot of expense or trouble.”

There is no cost to view the segments, so you can go back and watch as many times as you like and at your convenience.
