Seek The Care You Need

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (April 17, 2020) COVID-19 may have people hesitant to seek emergency or medical help during this time of crisis. Forrest General Hospital wants the community to know its Emergency Room is open 24/7 and ready to help patients who are experiencing symptoms that might require immediate treatment such as chest pain, stroke or heart attack symptoms, broken bones, or other ailments.
If you have some type of illness or traumatic injury and believe you need to visit the Emergency Room, then don’t hesitate to do so. “Forrest General Hospital Emergency Services is here to take care of any emergency needs you may have and people don’t need to delay their care for fear of coming into contact with COVID-19,” said Dr. Eric Jordan, Emergency Services Medical Director. “Your health and safety is our number one priority.”
He explained that screening processes are in place to guide care, and hospital personnel are assisting patients with social distancing. Jordan added, “We are so grateful to everyone who has heeded instructions for sheltering in place and helping to flatten the curve, but we want to make sure that those who still need emergent or urgent care know that they don’t have to delay.”
If you need immediate medical assistance, please call 9-1-1 or get to the ER as soon as possible.
