Join the Sweeteas for the 2019-2020 Kick-off!

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (August 7, 2019) – Forrest General’s Spirit of Women will host a kick-off celebration on Saturday, September 7, to start the new year of Sweeteas activities and to offer a chance for girls to sign up for this fun club! Young ladies are invited to join the fun at Hub Bowling Lanes (7022 US 49, Hattiesburg, MS 39402) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the event for those who pre-register.

The Sweeteas Club, a branch of Forrest General’s Spirit of Women, is designed for young girls in grades Pre-K through 6th grade to teach them social skills that will follow them into their adult lives. All current Sweeteas and their moms or female chaperones are invited, plus anyone interested in joining the Sweeteas Club in 2019! More information about Sweeteas will be provided during the event. The kick-off event is FREE. Yearly dues of $15 will be collected beforehand during pre-registration or at the event. Only credit cards and checks will be accepted. Sweeteas will receive a t-shirt and will enjoy five events throughout the school year hosted by Spirit of Women.

In addition to allowing the girls to spend more time with other children and the important women in their lives, the club helps young ladies learn how to take action for their health at an early age and includes expert advice from physicians and other healthcare professionals. They also have opportunities throughout the year to volunteer in the community, which teaches them the value of helping others.

“The Sweeteas Club is a great way to encourage young girls to embrace the innate charm and Southern grace they possess while offering an opportunity to make new friends and spend special time with their moms, grandmothers, aunts or other important women in their lives. The social skills they learn through Sweeteas will be invaluable to these young ladies as they continue through life,” said Millie Swan, Forrest Health vice president.
