Jefferson Davis Community Hospital to Host Fall Festival and Health Fair
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (November 5, 2019) Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and Jefferson Davis Rural Health Clinic will host a fall festival and health fair on Saturday, November 9, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
“We intend for this event to promote health and wellness in our community with an emphasis on early detection and prevention of serious health concerns. We know that, in many cases, early detection has a huge impact on successful treatment, so we want to ensure that everyone in our community has access to these types of important health screens,” said Nikki Kay, manager, Jefferson Davis Rural Health Clinic.
This family-friendly event will be held outside on hospital grounds at 1102 Rose Street, Prentiss, Miss. The hospital and clinic will offer several different health screenings for free or at a reduced cost; there is no charge to enter the festival or health fair; and lunch will be provided free of charge while supplies last.
Below is a list of the health screenings that will be available:
· Glucose POC Testing
· Bone Density Testing
· Blood Pressure Checks
· Flu Shots
· Cooking Demonstration
· Fall Screens
· Alzheimers Screen
For kids, there will be a kids exercise course, bounce house, bean bag toss, and face painting. The helicopter, police, fire truck, and ambulance vehicles will all be available for the kids to see.
