At a reception held on Wednesday, May 7 for nurses hospital-wide, Clinical Nurse of the Year was awarded to Vickie McGowan, RN, who works on the 3E patient care area. McGowan, who has been at Forrest General since 2000, is the patient care coordinator for the hospital’s acute inpatient rehabilitation unit.

“Each year, National Nurses Week offers Forrest General a great opportunity to say thank you to all of the outstanding nurses on staff for their commitment and dedication to caring – not just during Nurses Week, but 365 days a year,” said Forrest General chief nursing officer Micah Rehm. “There are more than 3 million nurses across the United States, and I believe Forrest General has some of the very best. Our nurses are skilled, experienced, dedicated and work very hard to care for our patients and their families.
