Outpatient Rehabilitation
We Take Your Care Personally
Forrest Health's Outpatient Rehabilitation services offer a comprehensive team approach with physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Our goals are to treat, heal and prevent injuries and disabilities while rebuilding confidence and restoring function. We have the facilities and resources to provide a wide range of therapy services for each patient's individual recovery process.
Outpatient rehabilitation is available through all of the Forrest Health hospitals.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy focuses on mobility, musculoskeletal impairments and balance skills. With physical therapy, patients can improve their safety and foster their independence. A combination of exercises, procedures, computerized equipment and educational tools are used, all depending on the patients condition. Our physical therapists work with patients to regain the skills needed to independently climb stairs, walk, perform job skills and manage pain.
Available at Forrest General, Highland, Jefferson Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Walthall
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is prescribed to assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, voice, swallowing fluency and other communication related disorders.
Available at Forrest General, Highland, Jefferson Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Walthall
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on restoring a patient's ability to perform the "occupation" of living. Daily living skills such as getting dressed, work or leisure skills and home management skills are practiced or relearned through occupational therapy. Occupational therapists can assist with anything that occupies our time and includes skills for living.

Forrest General is also proud to host the Neonatal Developmental Follow Up clinic in cooperation with South Mississippi Neonatology Group and the University of Southern Mississippi. These groups have partnered together for more than 20 years to offer the NICU Developmental Clinic for Forrest General’s smallest patients by screening and monitoring the overall health and development of infants with a history or preterm birth and linking infants who have developmental needs with community services for follow-up. The NICU Developmental Clinic meets once a month at our Out-patient Pediatric Rehab facility at the YMCA.
