Forrest General Hospice to Hold Memorial Service March 8

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (February 10, 2025) Forrest General Hospice, Asbury Hospice House, and Palliative and Supportive Care Services will hold a memorial service, Precious Memories, at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at Richburg Baptist Church.

The service will honor the memory of patients who have passed away while on hospice and palliative care during the past year.

All family members and friends of those patients are invited to attend. The service will include responsive readings, music, guest speakers, and end with an eco-friendly balloon and butterfly release. A reception will follow the service. Families are asked to bring a photo of their loved one to be placed on a remembrance table.

“The annual Hospice and Palliative Care memorial service celebrates the lives and wonderful memories of loved ones lost during the past year,” said Cissy Strickland, director of Forrest General’s Hospice and Asbury Hospice House. “It allows time for our staff and volunteers to reconnect with family members, which is an important part of bereavement and emotional support. The service is very special to all who attend, and we feel so blessed and honored to provide this for our families.”

During times of serious illness and loss, hospice is instrumental in providing care and improving the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice care emphasizes maintaining dignity, improving quality of life and providing compassionate care and comfort during a difficult time.

Richburg Baptist Church is located at 72 Sandy Run Road, Hattiesburg.
