W. Duncan Donald, MD, FACS, is a trauma surgeon and has been the Trauma Medical Director at Forrest General Hospital since 2015.
Donald received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS in 1998. He stayed for his surgical training at UMMC in Jackson before starting practice as a general/trauma surgeon in 2003 in Hattiesburg.
Donald has been board-certified by the American Board of Surgery since 2004. In 2017, he was appointed to the state EMSAC committee by Gov. Phil Bryant and became Chair of Mississippi Trauma Advisory Committee while also serving as Mississippiās Trauma Medical Director for the Bureau of Acute Care Systems, of the Mississippi State Health Department. He is a member of several medical and surgical organizations, including Mississippi State Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Southeastern Surgical Congress, and the James D. Hardy Society.
