Biography
Matthew T. Valentine, MD, is a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, where he diagnoses and treats a wide range of orthopaedic conditions.
Dr. Valentine earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstructive joint surgery at Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Valentine has a special interest in hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic-assisted and technology-assisted procedures, as well as direct anterior and minimally invasive hip replacement techniques.
Dr. Valentine also focuses on total joint replacement, with particular expertise in evaluating and treating ongoing pain following total knee replacement. He works closely with patients to identify the source of discomfort, improve function, and reduce pain.
When he is not in the operating room or caring for patients, Dr. Valentine enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, embracing an active lifestyle that reflects his commitment to helping patients maintain mobility and quality of life.
