Forrest General Hospital Named High Performing Hospital in Five Categories by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals Ratings

Forrest General Hospital has been named a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2026-2027 ratings and rankings which were released in July. This is the highest rating a hospital can earn for the publication’s Procedures and Conditions ratings.

Forrest General was recognized as a High Performing hospital for providing high quality care in five categories across four clinical service areas:

Cardiology, Heart & Vascular

  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) – the only hospital in Mississippi to receive this rating for the second year in a row
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Cancer

  • Prostate Cancer Surgery

Orthopedics

  • Knee Replacement Surgery

Neurology & Neurosurgery

  • Stroke

The annual Procedures & Conditions ratings, which Forrest General Hospital falls under, help assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

For the 37th year, U.S. News & World Report looked at facts like how well hospitals prevent problems, the quality of nursing care, and patient death rates (adjusted for risk) to create the rankings. They used data from millions of records from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
