    Forrest Health's Heart and Vascular care includes several areas of service including cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, catheterization and pulmonary rehabilitation, among many others. These services are provided by a staff of board-certified cardiovascular and vascular surgeons, and cardiologists. Dedicated facilities for our heart and vascular patients include heart surgery suites, an endovascular surgery suite, telemetry units and critical care areas.

    Care and treatment are available at Forrest General Hospital, Highland Community Hospital and our satellite cardiology clinics through a partnership with Hattiesburg Clinic.

    Learn the Signs of a Heart Attack

    Some heart attacks are sudden and intense, but most start slowly with mild pain or discomfort. The following signs can mean that a heart attack is happening:

    • Chest discomfort
    • Discomfort in other areas of the upper body, especially arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach
    • Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort
    • Cold sweats, nausea or lightheadedness

    Minutes matter! Even if you are not sure you're experiencing a heart attack, have it checked out. In most all cases, calling 9-1-1 is the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment.
