    Forrest General receives 2017 National Quality Recognition, including several Top 100 in Nation Awards

    HATTIESBURG, Miss. – (March 29, 2017) Forrest General Hospital recently received numerous quality awards including ranking in the top 100 hospitals nationwide for Patient Safety in Overall Medical Care. The awards and rankings were presented by CareChex®, an information service of Quantros, Inc. CareChex provides clinical, financial, and patient satisfaction findings to consumers, providers, and purchasers of U.S. medical care. Unlike other publicly available quality ratings, CareChex provides a composite evaluation of all components of medical quality including process of care, outcomes of care, and patient experiences.     According to CareChex®, the hospital received Top 100 in Nation and Top 10 percent in the Nation awards for the following service areas for Patient Safety:

    • Gall Bladder Removal
    • Hip Fracture Repair
    • Pneumonia Care
    • Pulmonary Care
    • Stroke Care
    • Trauma Care

    Forrest General’s Women’s Health services and Cancer Care services were both rated number 1 in the Market for Patient Safety. Additionally, the hospital received Top 10% in the Nation for Medical Excellence in Overall Medical Care. Forrest General also received Top 10% in the Nation for Medical Excellence in the following areas:

    • Pneumonia Care
    • Pulmonary Care
    • Spinal Fusion
    • Spinal Surgery
    • Stroke Care
